Last night, God reminded
of what David was doing in 2 Samuel 6:16. It says that, “As the ark of the Lord
came into the city of David,
Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before
the Lord, and she despised him in her heart.”
Jeyps and I were in Matt Redman concert yesterday evening
with Edrei, Francis and Christian. It was an amazing worship night experience. People
from different churches, of different races, were pouring out not just their hearts
but their bodies as well. They were going wild, dancing and singing their
hearts out to God. It kind of reminded me of my ‘old glory YOF days’. Youth
were jumping, dancing, and going crazy as they sung songs to God. I can even
remember feeling the floor shake.
Last night, I had the glimpse of my fiancé really dancing. Jeyps
didn’t at all hold back from dancing, leaping and singing his way to God. That hit
me. God then reminded me of how David was in the verse I mentioned earlier. He leaped.
He danced. He poured out his heart to God. It was an awesome and wonderful sight
to see. The knight He has given me does not just slay dragons and go on with
his adventures in life. He can go wild and have fun in dancing before God like how the song 'Undignified' goes:
I will dance I will sing to be mad for my king
Nothing Lord is hindering the passion in my soul
I will dance I will sing to be mad for my king
Nothing lord is hindering the passion in my soul
And I’ll become even more undignified than this
Some would say it’s foolishness but
I’ll become even more undignified than this
Some would say it’s foolishness
Wouldn't that be awesome if we won't be mindful of the how the people would think about us whenever we worship God? That even if we may look funny, foolish or crazy to them, we wouldn't care at all because we're doing it for God anyway.
But I also want to share to you that worship doesn't just happens when we sing praises to God. Like what Louie Giglio shared to us, worship doesn't begin
the moment we enter the door of our worship center and only when we open our
lips and sing to God. It's not confined in singing or dancing worship songs. Don't
get me wrong here, God is blessed when we sing to Him. But whenever we do just
that, He would be probably say, “Okay. That’s good. You’re singing. Join the
angels. They’ve just been singing like for homw long? Let's see..umm..forever? But that’s still good. That’s
wonderful. Thank you for singing those songs for me.” But if we live out the
words we sing AND share who God is to others, He would begin to get excited. I can imagine
God hushing the angels to listen even for just a moment as He points to you, “Look! Look!
Look at my daughter! Look at what she’s
doing. She’s telling her hurting friend about me. She’s showing her that she
can get healing from me. Isn’t that wonderful? And there! Look at my son! He’s sharing
to his brother about me. Wow! They’ll get to know how much I’ve been wanting for
them to come back home. How much I love them!”
Wouldn’t that be great? =)
So let's dance just like David did, through his songs and his life.
